This project involved the reconfiguration of the ground and first floor within an existing side extension to a semi-detached property. Our client wanted to reconfigure the stair to allow for the best usable space for an office on the ground floor and to accommodate an en-suite along with the bedroom upstairs.
We explored a number of options working within the parameters of the space, investigating various stair options and assessing its impact on both floor in terms of leftover usable area. The studies also took into account the economy of the different options such as the retention/removal of existing windows and services in comparison with pros/cons of the layouts.
Our clients found the process easy to follow, informative and felt thoroughly engaged through the process. The use of the 3d model to visualise the spaces helped enormously and helped greatly in the decision making process.
We have worked with MAAD Studio to draw up plans to rework the internal layout of our existing extension and to add an en-suite bathroom to a bedroom.
Moi worked quickly and diligently to draw up different layout designs for our consideration and very clearly talked us through the benefits and drawbacks of each option to help us choose the best option, which was very helpful and reassuring. He has also very clearly advised us of technical elements of the design to investigate further with building control and suppliers, which again is very helpful.
