Internal reconfiguration + Garage conversion
The client had purchased a semi-detached property with a two bay garage as part of the main building with the intention of converting them into flats for rent. The client also wanted the option of selling the flats as individual properties in the future. Working with the client we developed a series of options to allow market testing of room areas.
Once a design was finalised we ensured the necessary planning application was made to allow for the garages ‘change of use’, and the conversion of the property from a single family home to individual flats, this required the separation of garden amenity spaces and acknowledgement to allow for additional parking.
The Building Control submission allowed for upgrading the garages thermal elements and provide the acoustic and fire separation as required by the local authority and Building Regulations.
