This project involved the ground floor internal reconfiguration of a large Victorian terrace house. Our client needed assistance in exploring the best use of space, and ideas with the internal connections between living, dining and kitchen spaces and the arrangement and selection of furniture.
We started the process by fully interrogating how the space was used by our clients. How many people generally used the living spaces, and for how long, what they liked about the space, what aspirations they might have in using it for the future etc. Following this, we prepared some example boards of precedent projects which helped us explore ideas together. We then prepared a series of sketches showing how the spaces might connect to one another and look with different furniture arrangements.
Our clients found the process easy to follow, informative and felt thoroughly engaged through the process. The use of the 3d model to visualise the spaces helped enormously and helped greatly in the decision making process.
We have engaged with MAAD studio for changes to our Victorian house. They have been hugely reliable, listened to us and come up with ideas and suggestions that we would never have had ourselves. Being able to see the proposed new design in 3D digital models is a real bonus. It makes it real. I would definitely recommend MAAD studio.
